Terms of Use
Effective 8 November 2026
The short version. The full terms below are what count.
- Reunyt helps people who lose things find the people who found them. We never hold, check or deliver items, and we can't promise anything will be returned.
- Be honest. Only post things you really lost or found, and only claim what is yours.
- Found ID documents and bank cards always go to a police station or Home Affairs office. They are never handed over between people.
- Meet at a police station or another busy public place, and never share a PIN or password.
- We have zero tolerance for abuse, threats, fraud or objectionable content, and we remove accounts that break these rules.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Edge Technology Solutions (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in Namibia ("we", "us" or "our"). We operate Reunyt, which includes the Reunyt app, the website at reunyt.com, and any related services (together, "Reunyt").
By creating an account or using Reunyt, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Reunyt.
2. What Reunyt is, and isn't
Reunyt is a platform that helps people who have lost something connect with people who may have found it. It shows possible matches, lets people claim and message about items, and points people to official places where items can be handed in.
Reunyt is not a lost property office, a police service or an emergency service. In particular:
- We never take possession of, inspect, store, transport or deliver any item.
- We don't check who users are, whether a report or claim is true, or whether an item belongs to the person claiming it.
- Matches, including exact matches on a document number, are suggestions. They are not proof of ownership.
- We are not a party to any arrangement, meeting or handover between users.
- We can't promise that a lost item will be found or returned.
If you are in danger, or a crime has been committed, contact the Namibian Police. If something you lost was stolen, report it to the police as well as posting it on Reunyt.
3. Who can use Reunyt
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Reunyt.
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf, and they are responsible for your use of Reunyt.
- You may have only one account, and it must be in your own name. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You may not use Reunyt if we have previously removed you from it, or if the law forbids you from using it.
Organisations such as schools, venues and businesses may only use Reunyt through accounts we have approved for that purpose.
4. Posting reports and claims
When you post a report, make a claim or send a message, you promise that:
- you only report items you have genuinely lost or genuinely found, and only claim items you honestly believe belong to you;
- what you write is true and not misleading;
- any document or card number you enter is from your own document or card, or from one you have actually found;
- you have the right to share everything you post.
To protect people's safety, Reunyt shows other users only an approximate area for a report, never its exact location. You must not try to work out anyone's exact location, home or movements from Reunyt.
Using Reunyt doesn't change any duty the law places on you as a finder or as an owner.
5. ID documents and bank cards
If you find an ID card, passport, driving licence, other identity document or bank card:
- you must hand it in at a police station or a Home Affairs office (driving licences and bank cards at a police station only);
- you must not give it directly to anyone, including someone who says it is theirs, and you must not ask for anything in return;
- the owner collects it from the counter, where staff check their identity.
Reunyt doesn't allow claims or messages about these items. We are not responsible for how police stations, government offices or their staff handle, keep or release items.
6. Meeting and handing over
Any meeting or handover between users is arranged by them and happens at their own risk. To keep yourself safe:
- meet at a police station or another busy public place, in daylight where you can;
- never go to a private home or an isolated place, and consider taking someone with you;
- if you are under 18, take your parent or guardian with you;
- never share a PIN, password, passcode or banking details. To prove a phone is yours, unlock it in front of the finder;
- use the handover code in the app to confirm the right person received the item;
- leave and contact the police if anything feels wrong.
If you'd rather not meet, you can hand any found item in at a police station instead.
Don't ask for or offer money or anything else in return for an item. Rewards are not part of Reunyt at present.
We don't supervise meetings, and we are not responsible for what users do, say or fail to do before, during or after one.
7. Rules of use
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not use Reunyt to:
- post or send anything that is abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexual, violent, defamatory or otherwise objectionable;
- make false or misleading reports or claims, or claim an item that isn't yours;
- commit fraud or theft, demand payment for returning an item, or buy, sell or advertise items;
- pretend to be someone else, or to be the police, a government office or any other organisation;
- stalk, track or locate another person, or try to find out someone's exact location, home or identity;
- collect or share other people's personal information, such as phone numbers, email addresses or ID numbers, outside the places in the app designed for it;
- send spam, chain messages or advertising;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access Reunyt or copy its data;
- probe, test or get around Reunyt's security, limits or privacy protections, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows this;
- upload malware or anything that could harm Reunyt or its users;
- do anything illegal, or help anyone else break these rules.
8. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
If you see content or behaviour that breaks these terms, report it to us in the app, or by email to support@edge.com.na. You can also block another user in the app. Once you block someone, neither of you can contact the other, and they are not told.
We aim to review reports within 24 hours. Content reported by several people may be hidden while we review it, and we may filter offensive words automatically. We may, at any time and without notice where the situation calls for it:
- review, hide or remove any content;
- limit, suspend or close any account;
- keep records and share information with the police or other authorities where the law requires it, or where we believe it is needed to protect someone's safety or to prevent fraud or crime.
We aren't obliged to monitor what users post, and we aren't responsible for content posted by users.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post on Reunyt, such as reports, descriptions, answers and messages ("your content"). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display your content, and to show it to other users as the app describes, for as long as we need it to run, protect and improve Reunyt. This includes using it to find matches.
When you delete your content or your account, this licence ends, except for content we need to keep as described in our Privacy Policy. For example, a found item that has been handed in stays listed without your name so its owner can still collect it, and messages you sent stay with the other person, marked as from a deleted account.
You are responsible for your content and for any consequences of posting it.
10. Our app and brand
Reunyt, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us or to the people who license it to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive and revocable licence to use the Reunyt app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use and in line with these terms. You may not copy, modify, sell or distribute any part of Reunyt, or use our name or logo, without our written permission.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, without paying you.
11. Fees
Reunyt is currently free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms before you pay anything.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to the service
Reunyt is still developing. We may add, change, limit or remove features, or stop offering Reunyt altogether, at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of major changes. We don't promise that Reunyt will always be available, free of errors or free of interruptions, or that any content will be stored for any length of time.
14. Disclaimers
Reunyt is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no guarantees or warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including about the accuracy of reports, matches, locations, collection point details or anything else on Reunyt, or that Reunyt will meet your needs.
Information about police stations, government offices and other collection points, such as addresses and opening hours, is provided for convenience and may be out of date. Check with the office before you go.
15. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows:
- we are not liable for any loss of, damage to or failure to return any item;
- we are not liable for anything another user does or fails to do, or for any meeting or handover, including any injury, loss or harm arising from it;
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, data or opportunity;
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with Reunyt is limited to N$1,000 (one thousand Namibian dollars).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for our fraud, gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing.
16. Your responsibility to us
As far as the law allows, you agree to compensate us, our directors and our employees for any claim, loss, liability or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises because you broke these terms or the law, because of your content, or because of your dealings with other users.
17. Ending your use
You can stop using Reunyt and delete your account at any time in the app's settings.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we must do so by law, if your account appears to be used for fraud or to harm others, or if we stop offering Reunyt.
Sections 9 and 14 to 21 continue to apply after your account is closed.
18. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded the Reunyt app from Apple's App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. As far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for dealing with any claim by you or anyone else relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo, or designated by the United States government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile network provider's terms.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Reunyt after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree with them, stop using Reunyt and delete your account.
20. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@edge.com.na so we can try to resolve it. If it isn't resolved within 30 days, either of us may take it to the courts of Namibia having jurisdiction in Windhoek.
21. General
- These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Reunyt.
- If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms. We may transfer ours to another company that takes over Reunyt, and we will tell you if we do.
- We can't be held responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- These terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version applies.
